As part of our commitment to ongoing education and training, our Podiatrists Fleur Fewster and Toni Nash recently attended this exciting and important conference in Queensland. Despite hoping for some sunny breaks from chilly Tasmania, we found the program so engaging, that we rarely emerged from the convention centre in daylight hours!
National and international speakers presented research and case studies on a variety of topics, including plantar fasciitis and heel pain, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, the impact of diabetes on foot health, modern orthotic techniques ( including the latest 3D printing of custom foot orthoses), foot and knee pain.
With our interest in comfort, orthotic friendly and sports footwear, the massive trade display was an invaluable opportunity to see the latest offerings from sports footwear companies such as Asics, New Balance, Brooks, Saucony and Hoka and also from “foot friendly” fashion and comfort brands such as Bared Footwear, Start rite, Drew, Revere, Orthaheel and more.
